Rob Meltzer, M.A., C.E.P. Rob is the founder and executive director of
Northlight Family Services. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental
Studies with a Minor in Outdoor Education from the University of Vermont and a Master
of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Prescott College. Rob has been a teacher, school
principal, wilderness program director, therapist, and university professor. He
attends workshops and conferences to keep current with professional standards, and has
evaluated and visited hundreds of schools and programs throughout the United States.
Rob is a therapist, certified educational planner, and a full member in good standing
of the Independent Educational Consultant Association (IECA). He has completed the
IECA Practices and Principles Institute and adheres to the ethical standards implemented
by the IECA. He is a certified gestalt and expressive therapist and has completed
400 hours of training with the Southwest Association of Gestalt and Expressive Studies.
Rob has the utmost regard for the needs of the individuals he works
with. He takes personal satisfaction in helping a family to learn a more honest form of
communication that stresses respect for all persons involved. His ability to hone in on
the issues is uncanny! Our family will benefit from what we have learned from Rob for
years to come.
Theresa Andrew, M.A. has been working in the mental health field for over 14 years including
inpatient hospital, residential treatment centers, domestic violence, public school as an
interventionist, and most recently as a wilderness therapist at a wilderness therapy
program. She received her masters degree in transpersonal counseling psychology from Naropa
University and completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Colorado, Boulder.
She is trained as a rites-of-passage guide and has been co-guiding vision fasts since 2002.
She is passionate about woodworking, restoring old houses, tennis, hiking, backpacking
and music.
Jennifer Baer joined Northlight Family Services as the Office Manager in May of
2006. She is responsible for scheduling, important communication with clients and programs,
bookkeeping, and handles a myriad of details day to day. When Jennifer is not at work, she
is a single mom of two beautiful girls, Jordyn who is 8 and Jasmyn who is 3. Jennifer also
attends college at DeVry University, majoring in Small Business Management and
Entrepreneurship.
Kendra Schpok, M.A., art therapist and psychotherapist, has worked with
teens and families in various settings including residential treatment, psychiatric in-patient,
and community mental health. As Coordinator of the Naropa Community Art Studio (2004 - 06),
she published on the role of art and social action and developed/directed an art-based
entreprenurial program for teens. A presenter at national conferences, she also leads
professional trainings in art therapy. Trained in Internal Family Systems approach, she
maintatins a private practice in South Boulder and is a part time family and child therapist
at Mount Saint Vincent Home in Denver, Colorado.
Roger Strachan, Ph.D. is a clinical consultant, trainer, and workshop facilitator for
Northlight Family Services. Trained as a Clinical/Consulting Psychologist in the Boulder
Model of Scientist/Practitioner, Roger has taught undergraduate and graduate studies in Psychology
and has had a private practice in Clinical Psychology for 50 years. He has worked mainly with
healthcare providers, men going through major life transitions and psychotherapists wishing
to be trained in Gestalt Therapy and Self Theory. Partner Mado Reid recently joined him in
Center for Creative Choice, which they co-direct along with Wilderness Encounter and Center
for Creative Reinvention.
